GNS Field Meetings 2011
The field meetings, unless stated below, will be of general interest, including birds, botany, geology ... whatever turns up. Stout footwear essential, and remember your hand-lenses and binoculars.

Fetter Hill. A joint meeting with Gloucestershire Plant Group to update old plant records with the added possibility of re-finding White Horehound, (Marrubium vulgare). Be sure to bring lunch and wear stout footwear. Meet at the Dark Hill car park at SO588086 which is accessed from the south-west to north-east Sling to Fetter Hill road. Cotswold Water Park for birds and general wildlife. SU025943. From Spine Road West, drive down to Lower Mill Estate. When tarmac gives out, continue down rough gravel track but beware potholes! Track negotiable with care. Leader: Ken Cservenka, 01285 656480.

BTO Gloucestershire One Day Conference “The Atlas – and beyond” at the Crypt School, Gloucester. A review of the bird survey work that has taken place over the last four years, and a look at possible future activities and directions, with national and local speakers. All welcome. Indoor Meetings at Cirencester
The series of winter talks takes place, as usual on the second Friday in the month from October through to April at Watermoor Church Hall, Cirencester, GL7 1JR, 7.15pm for 7.30pm start. Free to members.
